Romania
Mihai had the program, and had a slide show
about the trip his family took to Romania. Mihai's family had never met
his wife and children. Mihai talked about a fortress and how it was used
to protect the town. Prisoners dug a 542 foot deep well, with the deal
that they would be released from prison when there was enough water to
support the fortress, after digging for 17 years the water was
sufficient, but if the prisoners were released is not known. A castle
was built for the first king and queen of Romania. Mihai also had
pictures of the famous Dracula's castle. Dracula never lived in
Transylvania. Mihai had pictures of his family and some of the houses
and streets in his home town. Houses are very simple, and all houses are
built on the same size lots. Children are usually on their own, and
often play in the streets, where the older kids watch out for the
younger kids. Mihai's sister wanted a house of her own, and asked Mihai
to help her buy it. The cost of the house was $700.00.
