LaMar won $5.00 for the 50/50 drawing and Jean drew the 3 of Clubs from the card deck. There is $65 in the pot.  We are looking for the queen of hearts. 

Fines and Happy Dollars

Gary was Sergeant of Arms and his questions were: How many medals did the US win at the Olympics-110, Who does Penn State play for their first game-Coastal Carolina, During the 19th century what was Philadelphia known as-the ice cream capital, who did Obama pick as his running mate-Joe Biden.

LaMar had a happy dollar saying farewell to Flavia and welcome to Nicoletta. Ray had a happy dollar because the Phillies swept the Dodgers this week.

Thank You Notes

LaMar read thank you notes from the Christ Church in Beaver Springs and John Fischer for the donation to the church in Carolyn's memory. LaMar also read a thank you from DG Jim Gruber for the $50.00 donation.

Membership

Next week will be membership night, and there were 35 names submitted as potential new members. Sharon would like to see at least 10 quests next week, and hopes at least 4 of these guests will become members.

Brazil

Flavia had a slide show and talked about her stay in the US this last year. Flavia was amazed that people would like pigs when she saw her first pigs and cows at the Beaver Fair. She enjoyed all the trips to different states, but was especially impressed with New York City and the Poconos. Flavia especially liked the M & M's and Disney. She thanked everyone for being so helpful and friendly, and wants to come back and see the states she missed while she was here. Flavia then introduced Pam and our new exchange student Nicoletta.

Beaver Fair

John talked about parking passes for the fair, we will not be getting passes. John also passed a schedule for members to sign up to work at the fair.

Exchange Students

Our district would like to see more students going to other countries as exchange students. If you know of anyone interested, talk to Sharon.
