Family Picnic

President LaMar opened the meeting. Everyone enjoyed a delicious picnic meal at MaryLee and Lamar's house. Becky and John were in charge and did a good job.

Membership

Three more names were added to the list of potential new club members. Sharon had letters for members to send to the potential members inviting them to a Rotary meeting. On September 2nd these potential members are invited to attend a Rotary meeting.

Brazil

Flavia was presented with a gift card from the club. Flavia said this was the best year of her life. After the meal, Flavia had a slide show and told the club about Brazil. In Brazil the main language is Portuguese. There are 23 states in Brazil with a young diversified culture. The capital of Brazil if Brasilia. Belo Horizonte is Flavia's home town, which is completely surrounded by mountains. The Palace of Liberty is one of the biggest stadiums in the world, seating 81,000 people. In Winter Brazil is dry and the Summer is rainy, with temperatures ranging from 78-81 degrees.
