LaMar won $6.00 for the 50/50 drawing, and John drew the 10 of Hearts from the card deck. There is $112 in the pot and 35 cards in the deck.

Fines and Happy Dollars

Members had to pay fines if they did not know that China is the country that consumes the most pork, that pullets are young chickens, the average of a chicken in the store is 45 days, and the average age of pork in the store is 28-32 weeks. Pigs can gain as much as1-1/2 to 2 pounds a day, and pigs will eat 2-1/2 pounds of food to gain 1 pound.

Ray had a happy dollar because 66 years ago he was drafted in the service, 6 weeks later Pearl Harbor was attacked, Ray spent 6 weeks in the South Pacific, and 3 months in the hospital, where he married Jean.

Exchange Studnets

Tammy brought a picture of Adriaan Bolhuis who was the first exchange student sponsored by West Snyder Rotary in 1966-67. The school has given the pictures of the exchange students to Tammy, and the club may be displaying them at the MACC.

Care and Share

Care and Share will be on November 20th. Hopefully at the Senior Center, Jean and Virginia are in charge of this program.

Membership

Membership drive will be on November 13th, everyone should try to bring a name to the next meeting for possible membership.

November

Mihai and Howard are in charge of programs for November, Carolyn is Chaplin for November, and Eric is Sergeant of Arms.

Guests

Guests were PDG Michael Naylor, Carl Askew, Assistant Governor, and Santiago and his wife from Ecuador.

Candy Sale

Candy orders are due next week. John thinks the candy sales may be about 50% profit.

Concern

MaryLee is in the hospital and is going to have surgery on Wednesday.

Christmas Shoe Boxes

Sue N and Sharon talked about the Shoe Box Program. Last year there were 7.6 million shoe boxes given out. Pamphlets are available for anyone who would like to fill a shoe box.

Dictionaries

The club put stickers on dictionaries which will be given to all 3rd grade students in the Midd West School District.

Family Christmas

Jean and Sharon are in charge of the Christmas party which will be on December 18th, possibly at the Senior Center also. Mihai will get Santa for the Christmas party.

Nominating Committee

Howard and John are on the nominating committee. If you are asked to be on the ballot, please consider serving your club.
