LaMar won $5.00 for the 50/50 drawing, and Tammy drew the Joker from the card deck which cost her a $1.00 fine.  There is $123 in the pot and 34 cards in the deck.

Foundation Donation

The directors of our club voted to give $1500.00 to the Foundation. Active members will be given $93.75 credit toward Foundation contributions. Our club has donated a total of $54,757.55 to the Foundation.

Proposed Members

Next week members will be bringing potential members as guests to our meeting. Several club members will be talking about being a member of Rotary.

Rotary Foundation

Howard spoke to the club about the Rotary Foundation. 50% of DDF funds are given back to each district to use as they want. 19.3 million dollars has been used for humanitarian projects. $25,000.00 is given to ambassadorial scholars. 3 of these students started a school lunch program. 10,000 lunches and 30 computers were provided with funds. 45 members in Brazil donated $6,054.00 to the Foundation. In Washington $1600.00 was donated by 81 members. Polo was a major project of the Rotary Foundation. In the 1980's 1,000 children a day in 125 countries contracted polio. Since then polio has been 99% eliminated. There are only 4 epidemic countries remaining. In 1994 the entire western hemisphere was polio free. In 2002 the European region was declared polio free. The Polio Plus Partners purchased containers to keep polio serum good during travel. Paul Harris Fellows work for world peace and understanding.
