MaryLee won $6.00 for the 50/50 drawing.  Becky drew the 6 of Clubs from the card deck. There is $12 in the pot and 52 cards in the deck.  Watch out for those jokers.  They will make you pay.

Fines

Jean was Sergeant of Arms, and her questions were about St. Patrick's Day. St. Patrick was a patron saint of Ireland, but what county was he born in-Wales, According to legend what was one of St. Patrick's greatest feats-removing all the snakes from Ireland, How did he do this-Beating on drums, What is the anniversary celebrated on March 17th-St. Patrick's death, St. Patrick used the shamrock to better explain what-The Trinity, Which city in the United States, is known for coloring their local river green each St. Patrick's day-Chicago, And a traditional St. Patrick's day meal always includes cabbage and-Corned Beef.

Easter Egg Hunt

Members should remember to bring 4 dozen boiled and colored eggs, or candy filled plastic eggs for the egg hunt at the West Snyder Middle School on March 21st. Eggs can be taken to the school, or brought to the meeting the Tuesday before.

MACC

LaMar told the club about some changes at the MACC. Richard Hess has been hired as the executive director, and Eric Grimes is back as the main person to raise funds. LaMar said the MACC will get about $399,000.00 in grants this year.

Middlecreek Chamber

On March 12th the Chamber of Commerce will be having a seminar at Best Way from 8:00am till 10:00 am entitled Keep Them Coming Back. Members can attend at no charge, and non members will be charged $30.00.

Becky asked the club about the Chamber of Commerce putting a sign on the same post as the Rotary sign. Carolyn made a motion to allow them to do this, second by MaryLee, the club voted to let them do this.

MWSD Strategic Plan

Elaine talked about the Midd-West School District's 6 year Strategic plan. The plan includes teacher education, special education and special needs, educational technology, academic standard assessments, professional development, and district improvement. Elaine also talked about a plan she is working on to help students make better choices when they pick their courses. This plan included 9 sections of main employment choices, with sub divisions.

Brazil GSE Team

The Selinsgrove Rotary club will be hosting a team from Brazil, and there will be a social after the District Conference on April 13th.

Revitalization Seminar

There will be a Rotary Club Revitalization Seminar at Frackville on March 12th and at Lewisburg on March 19th, both at 6:00pm.
