Virginia won $7.00 for the 50/50 drawing.  A new deck of cards will be started next week.

Fines and Happy Dollars

MaryLee had the following questions, and members paid fines if they did not know the answers. The Gates Foundation has pledged 2 million dollars for what project-Polio Plus, Where will the 2008 International Convention be held-Los Angeles, How many Rotary clubs are there-33,000, What county is President Bush visiting-Saudi Arabia, and what was the score of the San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts football game-28-24.

Sharon had a Happy Dollar because she received a post card from Bianca who is in Viet Nam. John Fischer had a happy dollar because him and Carolyn are enjoying Florida, Howard had a happy dollar because he had an a-mail from Tristana, and Tammy had a happy dollar because her and Flavia enjoyed Florida where Flavia got to meet Mickey.

New Officers

John made a motion to have Howard serve as Vice President next year and LaMar seconded the motion. The club accepted the motion.

Guests

John Fischer from Selinsgrove Rotary was a guest.

Valentine Baskets

Sue and Virginia will take care of the Valentine baskets. They will have a sign-up sheet next week.

New Project

John and Jean will be thinking about a project for kids to take the place of the Christmas gifts for kids project.

New Members

PDG Karen Teichman was a guest at the meeting to install new members Miriam Dippery and Troy Scott. Karen talked to the new members about some of the things Rotary stands for. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs with 1.24 million members, and Rotarians are always invited to attend any club.

Rural Urban Night

On January 24th the Selinsgrove Club will sponsor Rural Urban Night, for more information and to sign up contact LaMar before January 21st.

Fireside Chat

On January 28th the Lewisburg Sunset Club will be having a Fire Side Chat at Purcell's Pub, all members are invited.

Polio Plus

Karen will be going to India on February 6th for a polio immunization project. They will be taking small gifts to give to the children.
