50/50

Elaine won $5.00 for the 50/50 drawing.  Virginia drew the Ace of Spades from the card deck. There was only $21 in the pot. Congratulations Virginia.

Fines and Happy Dollars

Carolyn was Sergeant of Arms, and members paid fines for the following: What is our government planning to shoot down this week-a spy satellite, who is in charge of this mission-the Navy, What percent of the democrat delegates are Super delegates, 20%, what state is having their primary today-Wisconsin, and what date is Easter-March 23rd.

Sharon had a happy dollar because she got a new puppy today, Sophie a black cocker spaniel. Sue had a happy dollar because her mother arrived safe in India.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt will be March 21st at the West Snyder Middle School. Each member is asked to bring 4 dozen plastic or hard colored hard boiled eggs. These can be brought to the egg hunt, or to the meeting the Tuesday before.

Rev. Scott

Sharon shared a newsletter she received from the Scott House. Rev. Scott has cancer, and does not yet know what sort of treatment he will be having.

Thank you notes

Tammy read a thank you note from Dot Kepner for the fruit basket. Thank you notes from 3rd graders regarding their new dictionaries were also passed around.

March

Becky and Elaine are in charge of programs for March. Carolyn will be Chaplin, and Jean will be Sergeant of Arms.

Falconer

Tim introduced his guest Mike Dupruy a local falconer. Mike's program was very interesting. He was interested in doing this since he was a young boy. Mike explained how hawks are trained, where they are found, and how they are handled. Mike has three hawks he works with. He told us how one of his hawks flew several hundred miles away, but he was able to get it back. When he works with the hawks he uses an electronic device to keep track of them. Mike also has a hawk food business. He sells 1 day old dead chicks for hawk food. There are about 4,000 falconers in North America.

Workshop

On March 12th from 8 :00am until 10:00am the local Chamber of Commerce along with Bucknell will sponsor a workshop "Keep Them Coming Back". A program to keep customers coming back to your business. The work shop will be at Best Way, and is free for Chamber members, and $30.00 for non-members.
