Sue won $6.00 for the 50/50 drawing, and Sharon drew the seven of diamonds from the card deck. There is $77 in the pot and 41 cards in the deck.

Exchange Student

Everything is a go for an exchange student, a girl from Brazil. There will be a meeting this Sunday (August 12th) at the Unitarian Church for host members to review the rules for exchange students, this meeting begins at 3:00p.m. Tammy, Lamar and MaryLee and Mihai will be hosts for this student.

Belin has a birthday soon.

Guest

John Fischer was a guest. The Selinsgrove club will be having a golf tournament on September 17th. For more information, contact John or Carolyn.

Board Meeting

There will be a board meeting on August 21st after the regular meeting. If you have something to bring before the board, please contact Tammy or prepare to attend the meeting.

Chinese Auction

Sharon explained how the Chinese Auction works, and named different businesses where members will be looking to get some prizes for the auction. Sharon passed a basket for donations for the tables that will be needed for the auction, and members donated $53.00. We will again collect for tables next week.  The Chinese Auction will be from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. on September 7th, and from 6:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. on September 8th. The auction will be at the Beavertown fire hall, and an all you can eat breakfast will be served in the fire hall from 6:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning September 8th. There will also be a food stand at the auction from 10:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday September 8th.

Make A Difference

Tammy  recognized Jean with a pin for making a difference in Rotary.  Jean takes notes for the web site each week and emails them to Tammy. Thank you, Jean.
