50/50

Becky won the first drawing of $6.  Ray drew the 5 of diamonds from the deck of cards.  There is $250 in the pot with 14 cards remaining.

 Fines and Happy Dollars

Fines were paid if you did not have a rotary pin on. Ray asked two questions: how many different letters are in the word Mississippi- (4), and what is today June 21st- the longest day of the year.

Cindy had 2 happy dollars because she gets to see her granddaughter this weekend and they are moving closer. LaMar had a happy dollar because he is happy to be associated with Angie Zimmerman.

 Chicago

Jean talked to Sue N. in Chicago.  They are doing lots of fun things, having a good time, and eating lots of good food.

  Barnyard Fest

John and LaMar will order food for the stand this week.

Campus Crusade for Christ to Asia

Angie Zimmerman presented a program on her travels in East Asia. Angie is a senior at Cornell University, and belongs to a group called Campus Crusade for Christ. This group shares Jesus with 20,000 other college students. About $3,000.00 had to be earned for the 7-week trip. Angie told the club she had to rely on symbols and a few English signs to get around. Children's day was celebrated while she was there and kids participated in games and came to play. Angie thought the most important thing while she was there was getting to know the people. The dorm rooms were half the size of our meeting room and 8 people shared a room, but they did not mind because they are so eager to learn. At mealtime, large bowls of food were on the table and everyone ate out of the bowls. Angie had her first experience eating chicken feet, she also said it would be her last. Every day there were language classes. The same words mean different things depending on how they were said. Parks in East Asia were well maintained, and there were lots of neon lights in the city. After coming home, Angie tried to cook some Asian food with little success. This trip has perked an interest in international study for Angie. Discussions could be held about religion, but she was not allowed to preach.
